There’s a big wide world out there. For us, only in our teenage years, it makes us feel relatively small. But we do have a role to play in the world and we can make a difference, we can shape our world and shape our future. On the outside we may only be a mere group of individuals but we are much more than that. We all are ambassadors; we are the Aviators of the Future.
Those attitudes and values formed the core of our second fantastic workshop with the inspirational Edite. Our session started with a game of tag to highlight the idea that we have the power to change the world. If we said the name of another person just as we were about to get tagged that person would become the tagger. It highlighted for us just how scared we were to instigate change because at first we were running away like normal tag! Eventually though we became more and more confidant and that set the tone for the rest of the day.

Over the course of the workshop, Edite guided us through a fascinating exploration of ourselves, our futures and how to work to our strengths to make a difference. The most interesting of these was an exploration of vulnerability and the positive implications that vulnerability has for us all. We each took to time to anonymously write, give and receive, notes on what we see in others. When we each presented the notes written about us to the whole group we also took the time to answer any question that the group wanted to ask. There were new and exciting revelations from everybody and it showed that being vulnerable and being open to people can create a better understanding of each other. It also gave us inspiration and new ideas about ourselves to think about, things that we may not have known before. And it was an amazing thought to leave the workshop thinking that ‘I may have had a big and important positive impact in the way someone views themselves in their world’.
As I was reflecting on both of the workshops that we have done with Edite, INSPIRATIONAL is the one word that keeps leaping out at me. Edite has shown and proved to us that we can make a difference in our life and that we can shape our future to be the person we want to be. She has inspired all of us to believe in ourselves and to appreciate and value what each of us can bring to the table so to speak. She has introduced us to ourselves and instigated in us a new deep personal development. She has helped us improve our skills in creativity and communication to name but a few. Most of all Edite has inspired us to be the best people we can be. I can’t wait to meet with Edite again and see what the next workshop has in store for us!
