Once more, the project Arrrebita! Porto keeps improving processes and paths, learning a lot from a team that came to make the difference for a trimester!
Good luck, super 5!
Last Thursday, March 20th, the 8th Team of Arrebita! Porto had time to make a summary and a balance about their stay with the project, in a dynamic way. What did they learn from each other, what has changed in their perspectives, what kind of thing would they change, how they see their 3 months participation in the project,... These were some of the ideas that have been focused with the help of music, collage, drawings and debate around a round table. Once more, the project Arrrebita! Porto keeps improving processes and paths, learning a lot from a team that came to make the difference for a trimester! Good luck, super 5! Pictures by Sérgio Ferrão & Rita Pureza

On the 16th of March Edite Amorim joined Galician Maria Jesus, director of Lesing and Spanish sign language interpreter, for an artistic project to celebrate communication in all its diverse expressions. Maria Jesus (Chus) captivated the audience in a symposium in which Edite A. presented a conference in Pontevedra. From there, the seed of an idea was born to create something together to celebrate the art of, with the hands and an expressive body, being able to deliver all possible messages. On a cold Sunday they got together in a studio in Porto, Portugal, where a video was recorded of the two of them expressing a passage on that celebration of communication: “El cuerpo habla” (The speaking body) (see the video at the end of the post). Through the hands, technique and art of Catarina David, photographed by the journalist Ávany França, and with the colaboration of some enthusiastic friends, an experience-homage to those who, with the body, express life in such a beautiful way. Grateful to Chus, for the inspiration and beauty. Excerpt of the work “The speaking body”: “Today we gather to share the magic of expression. The magic to impart what we feel through the most organic means, our body. The body as an instrument that reveals more about the world, about our world. And that shares the worlds of others. The body that speaks, the body that demonstrates, the body that communicates. The body that is present. (…) We have stopped to celebrate this body that speaks. (…)”. Here is the result on video, by Catarina David:
IATA has been THINKING-BIG’s client since December 2013, by chance: a video found on Youtube when they were looking for an expert in the field for an important conference for their team at HUB Madrid.
A very rigorous project created in close collaboration with IATA’s teams in Madrid and Geneva, with clear goals grounded on the latest results from research on Positive Psychology. The outcome from all this was a 2,5-hour conference with 45 minutes for debate and Q&A in which the international team cleared all their doubts on the subjects discussed, in a professional but very intense and highly interesting environment. The “flow” concepts; the role of positive emotions in the work place; the use of personal strengths; the creation of optimism, hope and vision; going from average to A+; among others, left the team captivated and committed. This conference was so successful that after Madrid in December 2013, THINKING-BIG was invited to redo the conference for the team in Moscow. This took THINKING-BIG for a quick trip to Russia in February 2014. A smaller team waiting, but a similar impact at the end, and a big satisfaction on this side for the opportunity to collaborate in making these concepts fly to different destinations. |
